10.00   Looking Forward, Looking Back: Implementation of the New Master Requirement for GLU Programs
During this session, Marilyn Cochran-Smith, the Chair of the APT panel, will sum up the panel’s work so far (2017–2019) and comment upon the implementation of the new master programs.

10.30   What It Means to be a Teacher Educator in Today’s Policy Climate: Identity, Scholarship, and Shifting Roles
All seven members of the APT panel, who represent five different countries, have worked in various roles as teacher educators over many years. In this session they will focus on key issues around teacher educator identity, scholarship, and practice by linking their experiences to issues in the Norwegian context.

11.45   Research and Learning to Teach: Four New Teachers Tell Their Stories
During this plenary session, four new teachers will give short presentations about their master theses and discuss how engaging in this research prepared them for teaching and influenced their practice.

14.00   Sharing Progress: Good Ideas, Initiatives and Innovations (Part 1)
During this session, representatives from seven institutions will each share an innovation, a good idea, or an initiative developed by their program and partners (each institution will have five minutes and five slides). Conference participants will have the opportunity to interact with the presenters. (See previously sent instructions.)

09.00   Welcome and Recap of Day 1

09.10   Teacher Education 2025 – National Strategy for Quality and Cooperation in Teacher Education
This plenary session will focus on the Teacher Education 2025 report from three angles. First, there will be comments from the Minister of Education and Research Iselin Nybø about the goals and purposes of the report. Second, APT panel members will offer critical interpretations and commentary from international perspectives. Third, there will be a panel discussion about the report among differently positioned university- and school-based teacher education partners. Table discussions will follow.

10.45   Reflecting on Opportunities and Challenges: The R&D Assignment, Practicum and Subject Didactics
During this session, teacher educators and their partners across institutions and schools will have the opportunity to share ideas, questions, and issues related to the R&D assignment, the practicum, or subject didactics by a representatative from each institution sharing an “artifact” that represents this work in their program. (See previously sent instructions.)

During this session, institutional/partner groups will have the opportunity for discussion about progress and plans related to the topics of the conference.

15.00   Final Wrap up and Next Steps
This session will reflect on the two-day meeting and present information about the report that the APT panel will write about their work with teacher education institutions, NOKUT, and the Ministry. Ideas from the university- and school-partner groups will be solicited to be included in the report.
