Information about downtime in the application portal for recognition of foreign education

From 1st of December the application portal will be temporarily closed for new applications.

The Norwegian Parliament decided this summer that NOKUT's approval schemes for foreign education will be moved to the Directorate for Higher Education and Skills (HK-dir) from 1st of January 2023.

– In order to ensure the safe transfer of the information in the computer systems, there will be a need to reduce access to the application portal for a period, says Head of Section Einar Meier.

– We understand that this can be perceived as problematic for some, but to ensure that the content of the applicant portal is transferred in a proper way, we unfortunately have to have some downtime, says Einar Meier.

Possible with changes in applications until 15th of December

From the 1st of December 2022 until 1st of February 2023 the application portal will be temporarily closed for new applications.

Until December 15th, you will be able to complete an application that have already been started, upload necessary documents, and submit complaints. From December 15th, the application portal will be completely closed.

This means that for applicants with an ongoing application the processing time might be longer than usual during this period.

NOKUT has decided to accredit Professional studies in Psychology at the University of Stavanger (UiS). Consequently, the university can apply to the Ministry of Education to establish the study program.
