NOKUT accredits Master of Laws at University of Agder and University of Stavanger

NOKUT has decided to accredit Master of Laws at the University of Agder and the University of Stavanger. The two universities now have to submit an application to the Ministry of Education and Research in order to establish the study programmes.

“I would like to congratulate the University of Agder and the University of Stavanger. Both institutions have shown that they meet all the necessary requirements to establish Master of Laws”, says Nina Waaler, Director of The Department for Quality Assurance and Legal Affairs.

The applications have been assessed by an expert committee consisting of people from the same subject area with relevant background and experience. The committee has assessed whether the study programmes comply with existing rules and regulations. NOKUT’s decision follows the recommendations of the expert committee. The committee has also given both universities recommendations on how they can further develop the study programmes.

Before the two universities can establish the Master's programmes, they must apply to the Ministry of Education and Research for approval.

NOKUT has decided to accredit Professional studies in Psychology at the University of Stavanger (UiS). Consequently, the university can apply to the Ministry of Education to establish the study program.
