A regulated profession is one where the authorities stipulate statutory minimum qualifications that you must have before you are permitted to practise your profession and/or use a certain professional title.
There are different rules for citizens of countries inside and outside the EU/EEA.
Citizens of EU/EEA countries
If you come from a country in the EU/EEA and want to work in another EU/EEA country, you can have your professional qualifications recognised in that country.
To have your qualifications recognised, you must be fully qualified to practise your profession in an EU/EEA country. If you are fully qualified, you may apply to have your professional qualifications recognised in another EU/EEA country. Once your qualifications are formally recognised, you can work in the EU/EEA country you applied to and you have the right to use the professional title authorised in that country.
